Festival registration. The registration form asks for your first and last name, stage name, country, email address, WhatsApp number, chosen package, accommodation preference and, optionally, your magic society, competition category, shop details (if you are a dealer) and your comments. We use this to manage your participation: confirming your place, organising the contest and accommodation, and sending you payment and schedule details. The legal basis is performance of the participation contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
Newsletter. If you subscribe we keep your email address, the language you browsed in, and the times you subscribed and confirmed. We use them only to send you festival news. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), given by ticking the box and then confirming your address by email — without that confirmation we send you nothing.
We never sell or rent your data. We process it with the help of providers acting as processors, contractually bound to protect it: Vercel (website hosting), Neon (database), Resend (automated emails) and Brevo (newsletters). Some of these services may process data outside the European Union, under the Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission. We may also disclose data to authorities where the law requires it.
Registration data is kept for the duration of the edition you registered for and for 3 years afterwards, for the association's records and any complaints. Newsletter addresses stay with us until you unsubscribe — you can do that at any time using the link at the bottom of every email. After you unsubscribe we keep only the proof of your consent and its withdrawal, so we can demonstrate compliance.
You have the right to request access to your data, correction of inaccurate data, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and to object to processing. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting processing carried out beforehand. For any of these, write to festmagic@yahoo.com — we reply within 30 days at the latest. If our answer does not satisfy you, you may complain to the Romanian Data Protection Authority (dataprotection.ro) or to the supervisory authority in your own country.
This site uses no marketing or analytics cookies and does not track you across other websites. There is no Google Analytics, no Facebook pixel, no similar tool. Your browser may store a local preference about the newsletter pop-up so we don't show it every time — that stays on your device and never reaches us. If we add analytics in the future, we will ask for your consent first.
The site runs exclusively over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Access to registrations and to the subscriber list is password-protected and limited to the organisers. Data is stored in managed databases with backups. That said, no transmission over the internet can be guaranteed to be fully secure — should an incident ever occur that may affect your rights, we will notify you as the law requires.
The Junior category is open to magicians under 16. They are registered by a parent or legal guardian, who consents to the processing of the child's data. We do not knowingly collect data from children in any other way.
If we change how we process data, we update this page and the date at the top of it. We encourage you to re-read it from time to time.
